Overview
There has been a lot of research conducted worldwide to investigate possible health effects of radio signals, including sleep from mobile phones.
In relation to radio frequency emissions and health, the general conclusion from the World Health Organization (WHO) is;
“Despite extensive research, to date there is no evidence to conclude that exposure to low level electromagnetic fields is harmful to human health”

The Swedish SSI 2005 annual update states;
"...it can be concluded today that there may be alterations of sleep caused by exposure, but the data are still inconsistent. Moreover, there is no known effect on health attributable to these low-amplitude alterations of sleep"

The Health Council of the Netherlands 2002 states;
".... the data relating to effects on the brain during sleep are ambiguous. Although effects on the EEG pattern have been observed, this was during the non-REM phases in the case of the studies conducted in Mainz, while the effects in the studies in Zurich conversely occured during the REM phases..... the committee also concludes that there is no reason to suppose that the effects lead to health problems. It points out that similar effects have also been found as a result of caffeine consumption and natural hormonal fluctuations".
